Technotopia

"The future has already arrived. It's just not evenly distributed yet."

__At the center of it all is the great Dome, sealing the heart of civilization inside, where the layers of humanity are sifted out by money and malice. The vast, half-planted metropolis sits surrounded by two rings of debris, one inhabited, the other not.

__Directly outside the heart is a decomposing scab of fallen city called The Nethers where the power of major corporations and military control is replaced by organized crime and cunning. While the various nuclear power plants that fuel the Dome are leeched upon by the Nethers, the Wire, a "graphic representation of data abstracted from the banks of every computer in the human system. Unthinkable complexity. Lines of light ranged in the nonspace of the mind, clusters and constellations of data" is cut into pieces, creating several small networks with very specific connections that serve as gateways between the powers of the realm.

__Encompasing the whole of both the Heart and the Nethers is a vast desert of scattered garbage. Called The Boneyard Waste for it's vast majority of fallen aircraft and dropships, the Waste is a random-encounter zone filled with mindless radioactive mutants and rogue android parties.
